Johnson County Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the person or created the record.

Custody and Records Contacts

Use the contact that matches the last known custodian. The jail information number is the direct route for a Johnson County booking. Sheriff administration handles office and records routing during its listed business hours. TDCJ contacts apply only to state custody and state release processing.

The question determines where to look:

  • For one released person or a county release record, start with the home search and records path.
  • For state parole or local probation, use Probation & Parole.
  • For the unpublished same-day feed and official fallback, use Jail Releases: 24 Hours.
  • For a state date or alert, use Projected Release or VINELink Inmate Search.
  • For a specific custodian, select its facility page from the footer.
  • For a sentenced Texas prisoner, use TDCJ rather than the Johnson County jail search.
  • For federal custody, use BOP after designation; for ICE custody at Prairieland, use ICE ODLS and the facility.

A Johnson County jail departure into ICE, TDCJ, another county, or federal custody is a transfer rather than proof of community release. Ask the county for the movement entry, then contact the receiving system. USMS has no public historical release locator equivalent to BOP, so federal pretrial matters may require the federal docket and actual holding facility.
